Description

Within the framework of the strategic project “Cross-border Cooperation for the Development of Maritime Spatial Planning” co-financed by the Cross-border Cooperation Programme “Greece-Cyprus 2007-2013”


Project Scope:

The Contract concerns the creation of a Specialized and Interoperable Geoinformation Infrastructure for Marine Spatial Planning, which can be connected to other dynamic systems of the Hellenic Maritime Administration or other bodies and disseminate information to individual services as well as via web-GIS.



In particular, the project includes:

  • The development of a Geographic Information Processing, Production and Management Subsystem (GIS).
  • The development of an Internet Information Dissemination Subsystem (IDIS).
  • The design and development of a Cartographic Database (CBD) and an index with a cartographic background.
  • The procurement and installation of the necessary system hardware and software components.
  • The training of the National Geographic Information System personnel at various levels of specialization.
  • The integration of the new systems with the existing IT and communications infrastructures of the National Geographic Information System.
  • The provision of Technical Support services that cover issues of proper use and management of applications as well as failure of hardware or software components.
  • The guarantee of proper operation of the overall system.


Project Equipment

The Contractor, within the framework of the Contract, has offered, installed, adjusted and put into operation the appropriate equipment (hardware and software), in order to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Infrastructure. In addition, it has proceeded to any necessary customization / adaptation of the offered equipment, in accordance with the requirements of the Service.
