Development and Operation of an Electronic Driving Academy – “e-Drive Academy”

Project Objective

The project objective is to create a continuously evolving hub of responsibility of the Ministry of Transport Infrastructure and Networks (YYPMEDI), through which a comprehensive education and lifelong learning program will be provided, adapted to address every age.

In order to achieve the above, an integrated information platform for electronic education (e-learning) was developed, which aims at the methodical acquisition of knowledge of road behavior through an education and lifelong learning program for citizens of various ages and categories depending on driving experience. The system utilizes modern methods of educational interaction, personalizes the transmission of knowledge depending on the age of the learner and will provide high-quality interactive content (e-content).

The application, through special interactive services of an educational and at the same time entertaining nature, will, on the one hand, attract all ages, to which it is addressed, and on the other hand, constitute a hub of constant information for the entire Greek population, in order to contribute to the formation of a mature road culture and safe transportation.

The project includes:

• The development of an electronic, online education system (e-Learning Portal).
• The development of targeted educational content with a view to maximum knowledge transfer depending on (a) the age of the trainees and (b) the level of driving knowledge and experience they already possess.
• The development of a service for evaluating the educational process and producing indicators of effectiveness and transmissibility.
• The development of a web portal, through which the project’s e-education services will be made available to the general public.
• The preparation of studies of educational content, organization of the web portal and procedures and relevant documentation of the project.
• The provision of pilot operation support services at a technical and operational level.
• The provision of services for organizing and supporting publicity actions.
